Planting trees at Temple tiny house October 06.17 by Yung-Le, Hsiao Tiny house Temple tiny house which locate at Temple Community Garden, is the space diagonally opposite of Johnson Hall.  It was designed by student and complete at 2017 spring. At the beginning of this activity, we cleaning up the environment by picking up trashes. Before we started to plant the trees, we weeding and creating spaces for them. It's not difficult to plant trees if you know the process step by step, however it cause great effort on digging. composting in the community garden For the small trees which located at sidewalk, we first dig out and replaced original soils by soil which full of nutrients and  buckets of water. Later than, we loosen root of trees, since they were fixed by the shape of containers. If we skip this step, the growth of root will limited and cause the death of tree. Cleaning Up Delaware River October 03.17 by Yung-Le, Hsiao In “Green and Gray”, we were required to finish stewardship project which is environment rebuilding. This activity of cleaning the river bank was initiated by “United By Blue” and “Natural Lands.” I got these information on blackboard (school website). However, the activity was on Tuesday, which means I have to be absent for Green and Gray during afternoon. This event started from 4 to 6:30, located at Pier 68. Before the event started, we signed in order, and enjoy the view of the river while we were waiting . They also prepared dinner after finishing cleaning up, and it’s totally free. Life in Philadelphia

This is the first year of my college life in the United States. Temple University is the school that I have been studying at this semester; however, studying at Temple was not my intention. At first, I was planning to study at the University of Tsukuba, since I really like Japan and wish to live there when I graduate. Moreover, I had full confidence that I would be accepted by it. Unfortunately, I was rejected, and this really crushed my dream. Few days later, I got an email from Temple, which started with “congratulations” that gave me  hope, and smashed it again with “ however.” That is the beginning of the story of my IELP life ( Intensive English Language Program) My applying major was Architecture, so my adviser suggested that I  choose general courses which are about landscape architecture.
